Collection: The Black Pacifier

Carlos Redón (Barcelona, Spain, 1969), better known as El Xupet Negre, is one of Spain's most influential urban artists and a pioneer of Logo-Art within the graffiti and contemporary urban art movement. His work is characterized by the use of a single motif: a black pacifier—a simple, iconic, and recurring symbol—which the artist has painted since the late 1980s on the streets of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, and many other countries.

Trained in graphic design and advertising, he began his street art career in 1985 using markers and, from 1987 onwards, spray paint, exploring from the outset the intersection of graffiti, graphic design, advertising, and urban art. His iconic black pacifier became a popular, recurring visual signature that functions as a logo, becoming a distinctive mark and a unique language within street art.

Throughout his more than three-decade career, El Xupet Negre has traveled and exhibited internationally, participating in murals, public interventions, and group and solo exhibitions in cities such as Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, San José (Costa Rica), Los Angeles, and Miami, among others. His work has also included collaborations with fashion, skateboard, and urban art brands, as well as the production of pieces for galleries and contemporary art spaces.

In addition to his urban work, he has explored formats that expand his iconic image, such as Art Toys based on his symbol, and continues to develop artistic projects that combine traditional graffiti with new technologies, performance, and applied design.

Xupet Negre is recognized as a key figure in European graffiti and global street art, a creator who has taken urban art beyond anonymity and consolidated it as a visual language of its own within contemporary culture.
